Rails around Teeside

Being farly local, much time has been spent in this area since moving to the North East in 1998. Back then it was easy to photograph decent locos even on a Sunday ! Teeside was also an easy palce to go if the forecast suggested that weather would not last into the afternoon, especially if the cloud was coming from the west. Numerous visits were made over the years and this is a selection of the most interesting loco's and liveries.

56006 passes Middlesborough heading for Redcar. I had wanted to bag this loco for some time since it had been repainted into blue. Fortunantly I had gone to Teeside that morning and was delighted to see it sat on this rake in the yard ticking over. A quick dash to this bridge and a short time later it crawled past in glorious sunlight !! Mission accomplished as I did not get it again. 11/6/02

 37372 catches the early morning light as it crosses yarm viaduct with an empty steel. This location has to be one of the best on Teeside. The trees may become a problem in the near future ? taken at 6.23am 24/7/99
